Mohammed Basha - محمد باشا

One of the great masters of Nubian poesy is without doubt Mohammed Basha. Not only is he an expert of the Nubian language; playing with words in an ingenious way he conveys his message of wisdom in a pleasant manner and with humor.

Having started writing at a young age, his poems were read and learnt with passion by all younger poets and artists, who were and still are strongly encouraged and influenced by his expertise in describing the life, sorrows, love and joys of Nubian society.

The greatest Nubian artists, musicians and composers created beautiful melodies to his poems, such as Seid Ibrahim Qurty, Ahmed Hussein Alomdeh, Majdy Bata, as well as Ahmed Himmet and Shaaban Awwad.

In addition, his songs are sung by some stars of the Nubian singing Artists like Eid Suleiman, Ahmed Ismail, Nasser Seid, Nabil Fethy and Hamdy Basha.
