Seid Ibrahim Qurty is an extraordinary artist. He is foremost an amazing composer, a skillful musician and great master of the Oud (lute) - that is part of him and he carries it with him wherever he goes. He is also a singer with an enchanting voice sparkling from the diamond in his chest - and a dazzling poet, transmitting his deep feelings, whether it is his nostalgia for the lost lands, villages, beautiful nature and affectionate way of living of Old Nubia or his deep-felt love and cordiality.
Born in Eniba, the young Seid Ibrahim grew up valuing the outstanding moral principles of Nubian ethics of kindness, generosity, honesty and solidarity. He loved art since his childhood and created his first song while he was at the preparatory school. Seid Ibrahim admired the late poet Hussein Jaser, the regretted great poet Tareq Salah Eldin and the masters of the Nubian song of the late 19th century, the regretted Saber Asker, Khidher El Attar, Abdallah Bata, Seid Jamal and Selim Shaarawy. Seid Ibrahim Qurty greatly influenced the contemporary Nubian song, through his own outstanding performance and through his students who became leading artists and followed in his steps - Ghazi Said, Assem Khitam and Ahmed Ismail.
Convinced that art is a sublime message, a gift without return and love without limits, Seid Ibrahim Qurty refuses to earn from his art. He performs graciously during artistic gatherings and events of Nubian associations. Seid Ibrahim also composed numberless artworks for fellow artists, always in the Nubian rhythms and pentatone tradition, among whom the regretted great artists Khidhir El-Attar and Jamal Sherif, and the contemporary wonderful artists Ghazi Said, Assem Khitam, Ahmed Ismail, Adil Bata, Zikrayat Welwele, Ahmed Himmet and Mohammed Nawari as well as Ashraf Bek, Shawky Boron and Fedwa Othman. As many other Nubian artists, Seid Ibrahim is also worried for the great Nubian language, as only about 5% of young Nubians speak it. His dream is to create an operette about the noble Nubian history, to be performed with the participation of Artists from all the World at UNESCO. The wonderful Artist Seid Ibrahim Qurty's great artworks and heritage will live on forever, and we wish his dreams will come true.
