The late Artist Ramadhan Ahmed was a young singer from the Nubian region of Aswan. Like most other singers, he developed the love for music and singing among his family since his young age.
Ramadhan Ahmed didn't focus on weddings and love songs, like many Nubian artists of his generation. As he was deeply saddened by the drowning of the beautiful lands at the border of the Nile in Old Nubia after the construction of the Aswan High Dam, he rather sung sad songs of melancholy and longing for the lost homeland, and songs of the pain leaving their home and family behind felt by many young Nubians who emigrated to the large towns of Egypt or abroad.
As he knew how to express the deep feelings of sadness and distress felt by many of his fellow Nubians, he gained the hearts of a large public who continue singing his songs and passing them on to the new generation. Ramadhan Ahmed had also many followers in the Arabic speaking regions of Egypt, as he sung both in Nubian and Arabic.
