Abdo Gourroub from the Nubian village of Ballana is a wonderful artist, a skilled musician and he even applies his creativity in producing a wide range of music instruments, which he suitably adapts to his needs, like the ancient Nubian Tmbour (or Kither in Nubian) which he combined with the body of an electric guitar, so he wouldn't need a microfone to amplify its sound. Abdo Gourroub is also a great lover of Nubian musical traditions and originality.
His late elder brother Mohammed, who had studied music and was a skillful musician, taught him the principles of music and gave him various instruments, on which Abdo Gourroub developed his skills while he was still very young. His first appearance on a stage was in 1977, when he was only nine years old.
While Abdo Gourroub participated and sang in various music groups, including the orchestra of the famous Shams Hussein and late Ali Koban, he felt mainly attached to the genre of the prolific late great Artist Saleh Welwele. Abdo Gourroub is a favorite Artist performing in festivities, artistic gatherings and wedding parties, singing his enormous inventory of traditional songs and his own creations while he ingeniously accompanies his songs vith a variety of instruments, for the joy and appreciation of his vast public.
