Zikrayat Welwele is the daughter of the great late Artist Saleh Welwele. She is a very talented Nubian singer and songwriter, who is commonly known as the female Ambassador of the Nubian Song.
Zikrayat, from Halfa in Upper Nubia (Sudan), accompanied her father on his artistic tours and concerts since her very young age. Together with her elder sister Shehrazad and brother Amir she was part of her father's troupe, and was acquainted with the stage, with dancing and singing since she was a child.
Zikrayat mainly sings her father's songs, and her primary goal is to keep his memory alive. Like him she is very expressive and creative, and she also wrote many songs herself. Zikrayat diligently combines her family life with her husband and children and her artistic activities, and wishes more Nubian women would courageously embrace an artistic casreer.
