Ghazi Said is a young Nubian Artist with an extraordinary talent and love for Nubia and for music. After having been encouraged to take to path of art by the youth center who chose him as their singer, and by his parents and friends, Ghazi Said started his artistic career.
Ghazi didn't content himself just singing, he learnt to play the Oud (lute) by observing well-known musicians, and became extraordinarily skilled. Ghazi Said expresses his deepest feelings in his songs, bringing them to life and reaching the soul of the community.
Several famous Nubian poets wrote lyrics sung by Ghazi Said, like the wonderful Dr. Mustafa Abdelqader, Ezz Eldin Abuzeid, and Mamdouh Bahikt, and great composers composed melodies for him, like the extraordinary Musician, Composer and Artist Seid Ibrahim Qurty to be presented by Ghazi Said, adding to the extensive selection of traditional songs he sings at various events. As he is deeply attached to Old Nubia and its simple but beautiful way of life, many of his songs reflect the Nubians' nostalgy for ther traditional way of life and their desire to return to their lands of origin.
His most emotive song is "Babour Kusuna", on a poem and composition from the 70's by the great Nubian poet Dr. Mustafa Abdelqader, that describes the deep frustration of a young Nubian returning from abroad to his village boarding happily the steamship that should bring him there - but his soul trembles as he discovers that his village has been drowned and lies beneath the lake he is sailing on. Up to this day Nubians cry when they hear the song.
