Fikry El-Kashef is one of the great Nubian Artists who is committed and greatly contributed - and still contributes - to the preservation and spreading of the Nubian Art, music, traditions and heritage.

Born in Abu Simbel, he was interested in art since his young age - when he is reported to have listened to the great masters of the Nubian song at the window of his grandfather's house. Fikry Al-Kashef memorized the old traditional Nubian songs, and added his own songs which he loves singing the traditional Nubian way, shared with his audience at artistic gatherings.

Fikry Al Kashef went to work abroad, where he strived at collecting every penny he could to build a Nubian Guest House uniting all the characteristics of the traditional Nubian house. He also installed a library with various books about Nubia, its art and heritage.
